Israel’s Intelligence Agency “Mossad” Wants to Hire a Crypto Expert

In news that looks like the realization of the relevance of crypto experts, the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad, has indicated in a job listing that the government agency needs the service of a crypto expert with a deep fintech and digital currencies background.

In the job listing, the crypto expert must have at least three years of experience in the fintech space, with an in-depth technological background in fintech, e-commerce, DEFI, and Digital currencies.

HaMossad leModiʿin uleTafkidim Meyuḥadim, shortened as Mossad, is the Israeli national intelligence agency. The agency is responsible for intelligence collection, covert operations, and counter-terrorism in the Jewish country.

As described in the job listing, the crypto expert roles will include leading, initiating, planning, and accompanying systems development activities. This roles description is enough for local media to identify the purpose of Mossad to hire a crypto expert.

Per a report, an Israeli news platform, Ynet, has claimed that Mossad is likely to be interested in using cryptocurrencies to make anonymous payments to it’s agents or purchase equipment.

The Israeli recent crypto-related involvement is centred on Bitcoin and other crypto-asset, made popular by the militant wing of Hamas, the de facto ruling authority of the Gaza Strip in Palestine. They are a terrorist group willing to combat its financial isolation by using crypto for its fundraising campaigns on social media.

As a measure against this, the Israeli defence minister Benny Ganz signed an order authorizing Israeli security forces to seize cryptocurrency accounts linked to Hamas’ militant wing after the organization had reportedly accelerated its crypto fundraising efforts.
