Two famous American comic book publishers, Marvel and DC, have reportedly barred their creators and artists from the burgeoning crypto space. This was revealed in a Bloomberg report.
This could be because of the companies, Marvel and DC, plan to bring their massive collections of comic book art into the evolving NFT through an entirely different nonfungible market. However, Marvel had earlier sold its Spider-Man characters as a digital collectible.
While there is substantial controversy regarding the pay received by artists and creators from derivative media for their books, the new ban could further alienate these creatives.
NFTs space has become the new home for all as several corporate brands are joining the space. While some have launched, many have acquired digital collectibles. Back in August, Visa, the giant card payment company, picked up CryptoPunk #7610 worth $150,000.
