The latest cover of Forbes has been converted into a non-fungible token (NFT) art form. This one-of-its kind NFT is been referred to as “Merchants of the Metaverse,”and features Tyler Winklevoss and Cameron. The auction has a limited time period of 24 hours starting from 1:30 PM EST on April 7.
The NFT is slated to be sold on Nifty Gateway, which was bought by the Winklevoss brothers in November 2019. The proceeds from the sale of the unique NFT will go to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and the International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF).
Chief Content Officer for Forbes, Randall Lane, said that the covers of their magazine are the most valuable property in media because it captures those shaping the world. Lane said that making a NFT out of their cover is an effort to prove that journalism remains as constant as unique art forms show and also to show support for the CPJ and the IWMF.
