Morgan Stanley Creates Dedicated Crypto Research Team

Morgan Stanley, the giant financial services and investment bank has recently announced the launch of a new crypto research team, with Sheen Shah as its head.

The announcement quoted the company’s representatives, David Adelman, Juliet Estridge, and Vishy Tirupattur, to have said that “The launch of a dedicated crypto research is in recognition of the growing significance of cryptocurrencies and other digital assets in global markets.”

According to the company, the Sheen Shah-led team would be responsible for analyzing the impact or influence of cryptocurrencies on equity and fix global income. The team would report to James Faucette and Adam Wood, who are top officials, acting as head fintech and payment research teams for the financial services giant and investment bank, Morgan Stanley.

Sheen Shah currently works as the head of Group of 10, a European foreign exchange strategy. In her previous capacity,  She had helped the bank conduct some crypto-related researches. 

Per SEC records, Morgan Stanley has a major holdings in Grayscale Trust Bitcoin fund. The report shows its hold of 28,000 in GBTC. Available information had it that the company invested $48 million in blockchain startup Securitize.

Aside from Morgan Stanley, other major banks like the Bank of America have also made major inroads into the crypto space.
