One of the biggest supporters of Dogecoin, Elon Musk, took to Twitter to seek the opinion of his followers on whether the electric car giant Tesla should accept the popular meme coin as a payment method for its products.

As of press time, an overwhelming majority of the respondents were of the opinion that the electric carmaker should accept the crypto asset. Per the available data, 77 percent of them want the firm to accept the digital coin.
Tesla was one of the first major firms to jump into the crypto bandwagon. The firm not only added Bitcoin to its books but also started accepting the popular crypto for its cars. While this service is currently restricted to only US consumers, the company plans to expand this offer to other countries before the end of this year.
On the other hand, many crypto enthusiasts and analysts have credited Mark Cuban and Elon Musk for the extraordinary surge in the value of Dogecoin which originally started as a joke. Only recently, many investors had pinned hopes on Musk’s Saturday Night Live skit appearance as the ‘Doge father’ was expected to discuss the coin.
However, soon after the show aired, the value of the coin went down nearly thirty percent. But yesterday, SpaceX and GSC announced their plans to launch a lunar mission in the first quarter of next year, fully backed by the Dogecoin. SpaceX is another of Elon Musk’s company.
